In which I would rather be wrapped
Than this one:
8pm on a Saturday
Sitting at my writing-corner
Comfortable in a closet of organised mess
Leather of the reading-chair cracked in places
The cellphone sleeping
A pen poised
In it I get to think
About the evening fog draped
In folds from trees
Leaves falling on roads on grass
On rivers on roofs
And the wrinkles of the tide
Whose backwash from a rock
Changes the face of history
There is nothing
Outside of this room that I need
Not a job with well-being amongst its KPIs
Nor a country-house with wooden ceilings
Next to a water-fall
No it is quite a bit of all right here
The yellow ovals of light over my head
A small chess-board with small pieces
An antique globe, a glass of water
On a coaster with the Queen on it and
This scrapbook
Each page a memory, a soul of a multitude of souls
In my singular body
Amazingly beautiful writing. And a beautiful place to be comfy in.

I have a corner like yours, Vera. It’s my little retreat, a place where I can hide myself from the sometimes troublesome world. Your writing is very comforting. Thank you. ❤️

I just think how lovely it would be if we could have a chat over a cup of tea. ❤️

Yes, yes, YES!!! Exactly. Mine for me this time of year is sitting in my hammock every evening. Just me, the breeze, trees and the birds. Transportive. Perfect. Loved “seeing” You in Your sacred space. Now that image will play in my head/heart every time I read Your beautiful words!!! That’s so cool. Thank You, Lovely Vera! Cheers!!! 🤗❤️😊
