A pot of basil on the window-sill
A lamp-post bending over a street, not lighting just looking
A man blowing cigarette-smoke, eyes narrowing
A hand on an ignition-switch
A cat playing in sawdust
A girl studying her profile on a hand-glass
An arm lolling beyond the bed
A skirt flipping about the ankle over a grate

The ordinary life: that’s all art really wants to show

This could be a love scene, or
simply an act between two people:

So, two pairs of feet
Are sticking out
Sleepily one teases another
The other clambers over them,
Straddling, upside down
The covers ride up the legs
They move mournfully

And that will be all
There is no need to show the heads
No need to tell about the sounds

      1. Absolutely. ❤️

  1. You created two scenes beautifully. The beauty of ordinary life.

I don’t receive email notifications when you publish a new pos so I missed your recent posts. You write beautifully.
