Something healed Something
I disguise By somebody
strange Next year
will I look back on this excitement
with sadness? yet
the dawn is rippling out
in pink and violet ribbons
I walk on head up
into it
Conflicts silent
in words and missiles
prepare for the summit
History is benign Doesn’t
break things Doesn’t even wound
Things are damaged by doubt
Orange jumpsuits Falling
of a grand statue The defectors
with their harrowing stories
of escape: I don’t need
what confuses me I collect
what can heal
As knees touch gulfs close
redness fades where
the soul was a catalogue
of suffering
We surprise ourselves
with common feelings and physical touch
There is a startling
moment of honesty
What breaks is night not day
The white crack of heaven
spilling over the east
There’s no need for persuading to
not make a career of pain
This was kinda difficult for me do decipher or maybe not, I think I get these lines the most, these things revolve around me.
I disguise By somebody
strange Next year
will I look back on this excitement
with sadness? yet
And I love the message that you have in the end.

Dear God, Sweet Vera. WOW. God. Seriously. The whole thing. The line that zinged me as I was riding on Your train was “There is a startling moment of honesty.” I’m sending You HUGE hugs and even more love. Thank You.
