It was easy to meet you, easy to absorb
Every word from your nib, have them dissolve
Like food into my flesh. It was easy to feel
The past in you, touch the ache knitted between
Your brows, the path, the time. It was also easy
To want to take your life into mine, easy the way
I want to your body, the way I did the eyes,
Thinking, I’ve known them before I was born.
What may not be easy is to wake from a
Coma dulling inside us the sense of confidence
Into this forgotten place of innocence
Like a kind of death, undeath, rebirth,
May not be easy to turn two museums of
Skilfully stuffed memories into things
Deceptively basic: the opening of a
Permanently locked door, windows
Sweated with breath, a ring of the telephone
Even when each of us long more than ever
To rediscover that thing in its
Dusty and nebulous beauty.
Wow!! That’s fantastic!!

True, but we can hope and be committed to that becoming a reality as far as possible

Just saying… if the idea appeals to you. After all there is a ‘prose’ at end of your site name…π…it’s time you fulfil on that promise … and you are so good with words…and imagery…why not try it? π€βπ€

Oh Vera. Yes yes yes yes YES!!! This is another one that feels like You somehow dove inside of me and so beautifully wrote how I am feeling. I wonder so often…beneath all of it….who we are. As people, who we could be without all that. Went back and read a third time looking for a line to quote here….it’s the WHOLE thing. The entire poem. Just brilliant and right straight to the soul. Your poetry is so illustrative of us all. Man. I think now and again that Joseph Campbell would have loved Your words. You make me feel less broken as You remind me that my inner struggle is shared by sooooo many. Probably All. Sending huge hugs Your way!!! πππ Thank You. π

Wow, Katy, I don’t know what to say. It’s a wonderful feeling when you write for yourself and find that they are shared by other people as well. Huge hugs back! <3<3<3
