shreds

thoughts held from the mind wear at the heart
the river that refuses to run dries out in the earth
so words shall flow till blood drips from the fingers
in a language of permission and the present tense

*

culture = poetry across time

or in another parlance

c = p x t

*

sequestration is the word I would use for what I do with you

*

there are days all thought settle on sensation:
Cream. Touch. Loamy. Sodden. Wine

*

others, when consciousness + sound = chain

*

Really, memory is merely a factual dream

*

How often are people misunderstood, un-understood; no, under-understood

*

your voice purple, April, full-bodied

*

So, when I am brave enough I will write you a sensuous ode to utter pleasures:
something beyond a scream that might also be a moan

*

walking middle-finger to prohibitions and mores

*

words echo like cries through the hollow hall of meaning

*

that which hold me when
i am cold glitter like crystal
and understand

*

technology holds us to ransom; we have abducted ourselves

*

Independent thought is debilitated by rumours and manipulation that chew away at human fragilities like a deadly gangrene.
It wastes away and takes on morbid forms of insecurity, paranoia, pathological depravation. Perception is one’s reality. Manipulation hides reality from the truth.

*

more and more I long for clean, bright, elemental air

*

Every cell in my body moves in tandem
with the atmosphere

The hum of the refrigerator
The pulse on the roads
Trembling tulips
beneath the ground

It’s as if her flesh is my flesh

The outside is to me of the flesh
when the inner prospect is
crowded out of existence
by irreconcilable conflicts

*

read you this morning; its lyrical pace and familiar thoughtfulness — i could fall all over again
